A tragic incident from Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, has highlighted the dangers of rabies transmission through animal products. A woman recently lost her life to rabies after consuming milk from a cow infected by a stray dog bite. Despite the cow's infection being identified, the woman, who did not seek the necessary rabies vaccination, developed severe symptoms within days, including an extreme fear of water, a hallmark of the disease. Her family sought medical help from multiple hospitals, but the woman was repeatedly turned away.

Ultimately, she passed away after doctors advised them to take her home. Her case has raised awareness about the importance of immediate vaccination and proper medical attention when exposed to rabies.

Rabies is a deadly viral infection that affects the nervous system, usually transmitted through the bite of an infected animal. The symptoms can take weeks to months to appear, but once they do, the disease is almost always fatal. In the beginning, rabies symptoms can seem mild and flu-like. The infected person may experience fever, headache, weakness, and general discomfort. Some may feel itching, tingling, or burning near the bite wound, which is an early warning sign.
