The drivers were caught dumping debris on land acquired and under acquisition near the Atal Setu lane towards Ulwe. An FIR has been registered against them at Nhava Sheva Police Station.

According to CIDCO, the unauthorized dumping posed a serious threat to public health and the environment. To tackle the issue, a coordinated operation was launched on March 1, 2025, under the leadership of CIDCO’s Chief Vigilance Officer, with support from the Vigilance Investigation Officers, the Security Department, the Engineering Department, and the Police Department.

At around 5:30 PM, three dumper truck drivers were caught in the act near Shivajinagar Toll Plaza, Ulwe, Navi Mumbai. The individuals identified were Pankaj Pal (24) from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh; Shakil Ahmad Siddiqui (31) from Govandi, Mumbai; and Mohammad Ansar (48) from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

Following the operation, a case was registered at Nhava Sheva Police Station under Case No. 0023/2025, citing violations under Sections 271 and 62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. The case was officially filed at 10:50 PM on March 1, 2025.
