Navi Mumbai: In a unique initiative to spread awareness about cleanliness and women’s empowerment, a Women’s Mini Marathon titled “Run for Clean Navi Mumbai” will be held on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day 2025. The event will be organised under the theme "Ghe Bharari" (Take Flight).

The marathon will be organised by Dr. D. Y. Patil University in collaboration with the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).

The marathon will commence at 6:30 AM from the main entrance of Dr. D. Y. Patil Stadium on the service road near the Sion-Panvel Highway. Open to women of all age groups, the 5-km run aims to promote the importance of fitness and cleanliness while reinforcing the need for a sustainable and green Navi Mumbai.

Speaking about the event, organizers emphasized that the marathon will serve as a platform to highlight women’s empowerment while encouraging waste segregation and eco-friendly practices at the household level.
