Navi Mumbai: The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams, which began on February 11, are being conducted under strict surveillance by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) to ensure a copy-free, fear-free, and fair examination process. The exams will continue until March 18.

Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde has issued a stern warning that if malpractice is found at any exam center, its recognition will be permanently revoked. Additionally, teachers and staff found guilty of misconduct will face dismissal. This stringent copy-free campaign will also be enforced during the upcoming Class 10 SSC examinations.

Earlir, a virtual meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar and Education Minister Dada Bhuse, emphasized the importance of ensuring a fair examination environment. Following these directives, Dr. Shinde has appointed Deputy Commissioner Sangharatna Khillare as the control officer, overseeing the entire process.

Robust Surveillance and Monitoring

To enhance monitoring, three flying squads and two stationary teams, comprising 15 officials and staff members, have been deployed. Education officers and center coordinators will conduct inspections to prevent any irregularities.

Improved Facilities at Exam Centers

All 30 exam centers in the NMMC region, where 16,496 students are appearing for the HSC exams, have been instructed to maintain essential facilities, including clean drinking water, proper sanitation, fans, and adequate lighting.

Additionally, CCTV cameras at all centers will be fully operational, with recorded footage being securely stored for review. To maintain the integrity of the exams, only authorized personnel will be allowed within a 100-meter radius of the centers.

Strict Action Against Malpractices

Dr. Shinde reaffirmed that any exam center found engaging in malpractice will lose its recognition, and teachers or staff involved will be dismissed. The same zero-tolerance policy will be in place during the Class 10 SSC exams.

Transport Arrangements and Student Guidelines

To ensure smooth travel for students, NMMT buses will run as per schedule, and the railway administration has been requested to maintain punctual train services.

Students are advised to arrive at their exam centers one hour before the exam with their hall tickets and identification proof if possible. Dr. Shinde encouraged students to stay confident and wished them success in their exams.

For complaints or irregularities, students and parents can contact Deputy Commissioner Smt. Sangharatna Khillare at 022-27567067.
