Navi Mumbai– The selection list for admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act has been announced, with 25% of seats in private schools reserved for students from economically weaker sections. Parents have started receiving SMS notifications, prompting a rush to complete document verification and secure admissions.

According to the Free and Compulsory Education Act, all private schools must allocate 25% of entry-level seats for underprivileged students. This year, the demand for RTE admissions has surged due to the high cost of private education.

Thousands of Students Selected Through Lottery

In Navi Mumbai, 2,110 students have been selected across 98 schools.

In Panvel, 2,500 students secured seats in 113 schools.

Municipal authorities have set up document verification centers at Belapur, Shiravane, Turbhe, Vashi, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli, Katkaripada, Digha, and Airoli civic schools.

Admission Deadline and Process

Parents must complete the admission process by February 28. Selected students' details have been sent via SMS, and those who haven't received notifications should check the official portal.

Why is RTE Admission in High Demand?

The high cost of private school fees makes education unaffordable for economically weaker families.

Under RTE, students receive free education in private schools affiliated with various boards, leading to increased interest in the scheme.

Mandatory Documents for Admission

Parents must present the following documents at verification centers:✅ Child’s Aadhaar Card✅ Residence Proof✅ Birth Certificate

With the admission deadline fast approaching, parents are urged to complete the verification process at the earliest to secure their child’s future in quality education.
