After nearly two and a half years, the Rabale MIDC police have booked a doctor for culpable homicide following the death of a minor girl during treatment. The investigation revealed that the doctor administered certain medicines or injections without the necessary authorization, which proved fatal.

According to the police, the 13-year-old girl had a fever and was taken to Dr. Himmat Pansingh Alchaini at Sai Sanjivani Clinic in Digha at 7:30 PM on September 16, 2023. She experienced sudden fever, vomiting, and dizziness.

Despite lacking permission to administer certain medicines or injections, Dr. Alchaini negligently gave her an injection. Furthermore, after providing primary treatment, he failed to refer her to a higher medical facility for necessary care.

As a result of this negligence, the girl suffered convulsions, began foaming at the mouth, and passed away at 10:40 PM the same night. Following an inquiry under CrPC Section 174 (Accidental Death), and after receiving a report from the District Surgeon, Thane, the case was officially registered today with the approval of senior authorities.
