Navi Mumbai– In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was brutally stabbed multiple times, allegedly by her husband, following a domestic dispute on Friday night near Sarsoli Bus Depot in Nerul.
According to police, the victim, identified as Apela Khatun Alam Shah, was found in a critical condition outside Real Taste Chinese Restaurant, Matoshree Apartment, Sector 06. Passersby reported that a man aged between 25-28 years stabbed her around 11:45 PM on Friday, 2025, before fleeing the scene.
On receiving an alert at 11:55 PM, Beat Marshal Police Constable Nitin Wadal and his team rushed to the spot and found the woman severely injured. Upon seeing the officers, she screamed for help in Hindi, pleading, "Police, help! Take me to the hospital!"
The victim had deep stab wounds on her stomach, legs, and hands. Witnesses at the scene, including local residents confirmed that her husband, Shah Alam Barbhuja, was responsible for the attack.
Emergency services quickly arrived, and the victim was transported to D.Y. Patil Hospital in Nerul, where doctors declared her condition critical.
During the journey to the hospital, the woman managed to give a brief statement, accusing her husband of attempting to kill her over a domestic dispute. However, due to her severe injuries, she was unable to provide a detailed statement upon arrival at the hospital.
The police have registered a case of attempted murder against Shah Alam Barbhuja, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him. Further investigations are ongoing.
