Navi Mumbai: The Vigilance Department of the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) caught six dumper drivers allegedly dumping debris on acquired and ongoing acquisition lands in New Panvel. A case has been registered against all six at Panvel City Police Station.

CIDCO has been grappling with large-scale illegal debris dumping, which poses a significant threat to human health and the environment. In response, a joint operation was conducted on March 17, 2025, under the leadership of CIDCO's Chief Vigilance Officer, in collaboration with the security, engineering, and police departments.

During the operation, officials apprehended two dumper drivers—Khurshid Alam Ansari and Ashish Ravindra Kashyap—red-handed while dumping hazardous debris at CIDCO plots No. 01 and 08 in Sector-20, New Panvel (East). Four others, Datta Jankiram Chavan, Madan Shriram Aausarmol, Rakesh Rajaram Kewat, and Gaurav Sitaram Mahator, were caught attempting to dump debris at the same location.

CIDCO has urged citizens to report any unauthorized debris dumping through its official website, www.cidco.maharashtra.gov.in, or by notifying the relevant police authorities.
