City And Industrial Development Corporation's (CIDCO) attempt to allocate unsold flats in Navi Mumbai's Taloja area to applicants who didn’t get their preferred homes has sparked strong dissatisfaction from buyers. Many have rejected the alternative options offered by CIDCO and opted to return their allocated homes, leading to a rush of customers at CIDCO’s offices.
As part of the CIDCO Lottery scheme under 'CIDCO Mega Housing Scheme- My Preferred CIDCO Home' draw conducted on Shiv Jayanti, CIDCO offered 1,881 applicants the option to purchase unsold flats in Taloja. However, the move has created confusion among buyers. While the decision to accept or reject the offer rests with the applicants, the authority has given them an eight-day deadline to respond. Many have already declined the offer and notified authority of their decision, raising concerns about how the remaining unsold homes will be sold.
Fresh CIDCO Lottery Draw on Gudi Padwa?
CIDCO is reportedly considering a re-draw for the unsold flats on the occasion of Gudi Padwa. Out of 26,000 homes available under the scheme, only 21,399 applicants paid the deposit, with 19,518 securing homes of their choice. This leaves 6,482 houses still unsold. Additionally, some applicants may be disqualified during the document verification process, prompting CIDCO to plan a fresh housing draw to reallocate the remaining units.
