Navi Mumbai: In a major relief for home seekers, 1,881 applicants who did not receive homes in CIDCO’s ‘My Preferred CIDCO Home’ lottery will get another chance to participate in the next draw without paying the application fee again. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the lottery results on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti on Wednesday, bringing joy to thousands of applicants who successfully secured homes.

As part of CIDCO’s housing initiative, a total of 25,723 homes were up for allocation, and 19,518 applicants received houses. A senior CIDCO official confirmed that applicants who missed out on this round would be automatically eligible for future draws without needing to reapply or pay the fee again.

Massive Participation in CIDCO Lottery

CIDCO initially received 1.6 lakh applications, but after considering factors like pricing and location, 21,399 applicants completed the final process and paid the deposit fee. The lottery was conducted in four phases to ensure structured distribution:

  1. First Round: 12,420 applicants received homes
  2. Second Round: 613 applicants were allotted houses
  3. Third Round: 404 applicants secured homes
  4. Fourth Round: 6,081 homes were allocated via an online system

This marks the first time in Maharashtra that 19,518 applicants have been allotted homes in a single lottery. Many applicants expressed happiness and relief after securing their dream homes.

What’s Next for Unsuccessful Applicants?

Applicants who paid the deposit fee but did not receive a house will get their deposit refunded as per CIDCO’s process. However, their Rs 250 application fee will be retained, allowing them to automatically participate in the next lottery without additional charges.

CIDCO will soon announce a new lottery for the remaining unsold homes from this draw, along with additional housing units. Applicants who missed out this time will get another opportunity when CIDCO opens the next phase of applications.
