A 45-year-old man was shot working at the construction site in Navi Mumbai's Panvel district, was shot dead by unidentified assailant. After committing the crime, the accused fled the spot. The incident took place near Nanoshi village in Panvel Taluka on Wednesday night, March 26.

The deceased person has been identified as Babu Waghmare, a resident of Pargaon village, killed by an unidentified person at the construction site. The police received a call about a gunshot fired in Adivasi pada, where construction workers heard the sound of firing and went to check on Waghmare and found him dead with a bullet injury on the right side of the neck.

The crime site is located in a jungle of Pavel's rural area, and the villagers have suspected that someone who went hunting in the jungle would have misfired.
