Navi Mumbai’s online property tax payment system has seen a 15% increase in taxpayer participation, thanks to the modernised digital platform introduced by the municipal corporation. Prioritizing ease of payment, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde launched the new system, making transactions faster and more user-friendly.

With multiple payment options like net banking, UPI, QR codes, and digital wallets, more citizens are choosing online payments over traditional office visits. To further enhance the experience, the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) will be integrated within the next 10-12 days, enabling seamless tax payments through all major banks and digital platforms.

Officials expect an additional 15-20% rise in online transactions after BBPS goes live, offering 24/7 payment access from anywhere. Moreover, the municipal corporation has announced a 50% waiver on penalty fees for overdue property tax payments under an amnesty scheme, valid until March 31, 2025.
