Travelling from Navi Mumbai is set to become far more convenient for domestic flyers as the Navi Mumbai International Airport Company has announced a major expansion in connectivity. Beginning soon, the airport will introduce direct flight services to 30 additional cities across India, significantly improving travel options. The announcement, made on March 26, highlights the airport’s growing role in enhancing regional air travel. With this development, passengers will benefit from shorter travel times and improved access to multiple destinations, making NMIA an increasingly important gateway for domestic aviation.

Until now, NMIA has offered daytime flight connections to only 16 cities. However, from March 29, 2026, the number of destinations rose sharply to 46 cities nationwide. This substantial increase positions the airport as a vital hub for various types of travellers, including business professionals, tourists, and individuals visiting family across different regions. The improved network is expected to reduce dependency on other airports in Mumbai while streamlining travel plans. With better frequency and wider reach, passengers will enjoy greater flexibility and convenience when planning their journeys.

The airport operator has also introduced its first summer flight schedule, which will remain in effect from March 29 to October 24, 2026. This seasonal schedule has been carefully designed to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the summer months. By increasing flight availability and offering more route options, the initiative aims to ensure smoother travel experiences for passengers. The move reflects a strategic effort to align operations with peak travel periods, helping airlines and travellers alike benefit from improved planning and accessibility.

Several cities will emerge as the most connected destinations from NMIA due to a high number of daily flights. Delhi will lead with nine daily services, followed by Goa with seven and Bengaluru with six. Kochi will also see strong connectivity with five daily flights. Additionally, cities such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Indore will have regular daily services. This robust connectivity ensures seamless travel for passengers travelling for work, leisure, or personal commitments, making these cities easily accessible from Navi Mumbai.

In addition to strengthening connections with major urban centres, NMIA will introduce flights to 30 new destinations, significantly widening its network. These include cities such as Agra, Aurangabad, Ayodhya, Bagdogra, Bareilly, Belgaum, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Diu, Durgapur, Gorakhpur, Hubli, Jabalpur, Jammu, Kannur, Kolhapur, Madurai, Patna, Raipur, Srinagar, Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Visakhapatnam, among others. This expansion will allow travellers to reach diverse parts of India directly, boosting tourism, supporting business activities, and contributing to the growth of regional economies without the need for connecting flights through other airports.
