Navi Mumbai: A misleading message regarding water bill payments from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is being circulated on WhatsApp, causing confusion among residents. The message directs people to contact an official at the mobile number 09834225768, falsely claiming it belongs to an NMMC officer.

The municipal corporation has issued a clarification, stating that the message is fake and has not been sent by NMMC. Officials have also confirmed that the mentioned phone number does not belong to any NMMC officer.

"The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has not issued any such message, and the phone number provided is not associated with our officials. Citizens are advised to remain cautious and not fall for such misleading information," said the Additional City Engineer of NMMC.
