The Navi Mumbai Police destroy seized drugs worth around Rs. 10 crore on February 26. The destruction of all the drugs took place at the Waste Management Ltd in Taloja MIDC. Senior police officers Ganesh Naik, Prashant Thakur, and Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe were present to ensure the destruction was smooth.

The drugs that were destroyed on February 26 were confiscated by the police in 2023-24. 1,143 narcotics-related cases were registered with Navi Mumbai Police and 1,743 people involved in the sale of drugs were arrested by them.

This led to the seizure of drugs worth Rs. 56 crore, an official said.

According to an official statement, 111 African nationalities and 224 natives of Bangladesh were among those arrested, and drugs valued at Rs. 38 crore were found in their possession.
