Navi Mumbai Traffic Update: Atal Setu To Remain Closed for 14 Hours for Marathon on February 16; Check Timings and Alternative Routes

The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police have announced traffic restrictions on the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Sea Bridge, also known as Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), due to a marathon organized by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Feb. 16.

The marathon will take place from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m., covering the route from Sewri in Mumbai to Chirle in Navi Mumbai. To ensure the smooth conduct of the event and prevent congestion, vehicular movement on Atal Setu will be restricted from 11 p.m. on Feb. 15 to 1 p.m. on Feb. 16.

Traffic Restrictions and Alternative Routes

During the closure, vehicles will not be allowed on Atal Setu, and certain ramps will be affected. These include:

  • Nhava Sheva Traffic Division: Mumbai to Shivajinagar (Descent), Ulwe (Descent), Shivajinagar to Mumbai (Ascent).
  • Uran Traffic Division: Mumbai to Pune (Descent), Pune to Mumbai (Ascent), Nhava Sheva to Mumbai (Ascent), Mumbai to Nhava Sheva (Descent).

Alternative Routes for Commuters

  • Vehicles from Uran can take Gavan Phata to Uran Phata to Vashi.
  • Vehicles from Pune can use Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway to Belapur to Vashi.
  • Vehicles from Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, Konkan, and Panvel should take Gavan Phata to Uran Phata to Vashi.
  • Light vehicles from JNPT can use Gavan Phata to Ulwe-Amra Road to Vashi Creek Bridge.

 

Police vehicles, fire brigades, ambulances, and other emergency services will be allowed to use the restricted route. Vehicles directly involved in the marathon will also be exempted.

The traffic police have urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
