The NRI Coastal (Ulwe) police station has booked a 20-year-old man, Kurban Aslam Shaikh, a resident of Sector 24 in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, for allegedly stalking a minor girl and circulating objectionable photos of her on social media platforms.

According to the victim's statement, Shaikh had been stalking her for the past 18 months while she was commuting to and from school in Sector 24, Ulwe, against her will. The accused allegedly threatened her, coerced her into taking obscene photographs, and later circulated the images on Instagram and Facebook with the intent to defame her.

Upon learning about the incident, the victim's family approached the NRI Coastal (Ulwe) police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case on January 28, 2025, under Sections 74, 75, 78, and 351(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and Sections 67 and 67B of the IT Act.
