Around 20 passengers of a Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) bus had a narrow escape on Wednesday afternoon in Seawoods after their Route 17 bus collided with a school bus. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The school bus was returning to the school after dropping off all the students.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. near the Ashraya Old Home traffic signal when the NMMT bus rear-ended the school bus. The school bus was ahead of the NMMT vehicle and had just crossed the signal when the collision happened.

A woman attendant and a teacher on the school bus felt a jolt due to the impact. The attendant stated that she nearly fell onto the bus floor when the NMMT bus struck from behind.

The accident caused traffic congestion at the junction. However, the Nerul police arrived promptly and cleared the traffic after moving both buses from the spot.
