Navi Mumbai: In a determined effort to trace long-missing women and children, the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate has launched a special campaign named "Operation Shodh", following the directives of the Director General of Police, Maharashtra State. The initiative will run from April 17 to May 15, 2025, and will specifically focus on cases where women have been missing for over a year.

As part of the operation, 20 search teams have been formed at the police station level, along with 2 specialized teams from the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the Crime Branch.

The campaign will be conducted in close coordination with key stakeholders, including the Child Welfare Committees of Karjat, Thane, and Ulhasnagar, the Superintendents of Children’s Observation Homes in Raigad and Thane, as well as several NGOs operating within Navi Mumbai.

Police officials emphasized that this large-scale operation aims not only to trace missing individuals but also to reunite families and provide closure in prolonged cases of disappearance.

The Navi Mumbai Police has appealed to the public to support the mission by sharing any relevant information regarding missing women or children. Citizens can call the helpline number 103 to provide tips or leads.

This focused drive reflects the growing commitment of the Maharashtra Police towards strengthening public safety and prioritizing the welfare of vulnerable sections of society.
