Panvel: After an initial struggle to recover property taxes, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has already collected over Rs 341 crore in property tax for the current financial year from April 2024 to March 4, 2025. In the past four days alone, taxpayers have contributed more than Rs 5.56 crore, with daily collections exceeding Rs 1 crore.

The surge in payments follows the administration’s appeal for early settlements, as citizens rush to clear dues before the March 31 deadline. Late payments will incur a monthly penalty of 2%, prompting many to pay on time.

Digital Push for Hassle-Free Payments

To streamline transactions, PMC has launched the ‘PMC TAX APP’, enabling property owners to pay taxes online and request ownership record updates. Applicants receive notifications once updates are processed. Alternatively, taxpayers can pay via the official website or a toll-free helpline.

Civic Administration Urges Timely Payments

Assistant Commissioner Swaroop Kharge emphasized that property tax is a crucial revenue source for the city's development. He urged property owners to clear pending dues and support Panvel’s growth.

With the deadline fast approaching, PMC expects continued high collections as more citizens step forward to fulfill their tax obligations.
