Panvel: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has witnessed an unprecedented surge in property tax payments, with citizens contributing Rs 3-4 crore daily. This follows the corporation’s record-breaking tax collection of Rs 370 crore on March 19, surpassing last year’s total. By March 21, the cumulative collection for the financial year had already reached Rs 376 crore.

Special teams have been deployed for seizures and penalties, ensuring rapid collections. The recent dismissal of a petition by the Taloja Manufacturers Association by the Bombay High Court has further strengthened PMC’s position, enabling aggressive tax enforcement.

Deputy Commissioner Swarup Kharge has directed strict action against defaulters, with tax collection teams led by Mahesh Gaikwad and Sunil Bhoir achieving record recoveries across all four municipal wards.

The municipal corporation has urged property owners to clear their dues promptly to avoid a 2% monthly penalty. To facilitate payments, PMC has launched the 'PMC TAX APP' and an online portal at www.panvelmc.org. Citizens can also contact the toll-free number 1800-5320-340 for assistance.
