Panvel– Swastika Ghosh, an exceptional table tennis player from Panvel, has been honored with the Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award for the year 2023-24. This esteemed award, which recognizes excellence in sports, highlights Swastika’s remarkable achievements in table tennis.

The award ceremony will be held today, April 18, at 11 AM at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune, in the presence of Maharashtra’s Governor, C.P. Radhakrishnan. Swastika’s selection for this prestigious award is a proud moment for the city of Panvel and its residents.

The ceremony will also be graced by notable figures such as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Sports Minister Dattatray Bharne. Swastika’s achievement has received widespread praise and congratulations from all corners.

Swastika, a talented international athlete, is currently pursuing a BMS degree at CKT College, part of the Janardan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha. She completed her early education from Ramsheth Thakur Public School in Kharghar, where she studied from 3rd to 12th grade. Her consistent stellar performances at both national and international table tennis tournaments have significantly contributed to her recognition on the global stage.

For over a decade, Swastika has proudly represented Maharashtra in various competitions. She practices at Ramsheth Thakur College in Kharghar. Her father, Sandeep Ghosh, a coach and mentor, has played a crucial role in guiding her through her athletic journey.

In a statement to the media, Sandeep Ghosh expressed gratitude to former MP Ramsheth Thakur, who has supported Swastika not only with financial aid but also by providing specialized training facilities in Kharghar. He credited the success to the support of Janardan Bhagat Education Society and the encouragement of Loknete Ramsheth Thakur.
