CBD Belapur witnessed a tragic incident in the Income Tax Colony, where a 24-year-old man died by suicide after struggling with financial fraud and the seizure of his home.

Ganpat Sawant (80) lived with his wife and son in Income Tax Colony, Belapur. In 2017, Sawant entered into a property deal with Avinash Valwe and Ramprasad Yadav but never received the full payment. As a result, he was unable to repay his home loan, leading to the property being seized. The family was forced to relocate to a rented house nearby.

Burdened by financial stress and emotional turmoil, Sawant’s son ended his life by hanging himself at home on Monday.

Case Filed Against Two Individuals

During the investigation, police recovered a suicide note in which the deceased blamed Valwe and Yadav for defrauding his family, stating that their actions had driven him to take this drastic step.

Following a complaint, police have registered a case against the two accused and have launched further investigations.
