New Delhi [India], October 25 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Haney for securing the gold medal in the Men's Javelin Throw-F37 at the ongoing Asian Para Games and said Indian athletes' unparalleled skill has ushered in boundless joy and pride for the nation.

Haney secured a gold medal by setting a record in the games in the men's Javelin Throw-F37/38 final here on Wednesday.

Haney set the Asian Para Games record with a throw of 55.97m to bag another gold. Iran's Hormoz Seidikazpounji with his season-best throw of 48.47m clinched a silver medal. While China's Dongquan An settled for the bronze medal.

Prime Minister took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to lavish praise on Indian athlete's stellar accomplishments and conveyed his best wishes for the endeavours.

Pushpendra secured the bronze medal with a throw of 62.06 meters. The Indian para-athletes' remarkable performances have resulted in a victorious campaign for India at the 4th Asian Para Games.

"Congratulations to Pushpendra Singh on the Bronze Medal in the Men's Javelin F64 event at the Asian Para Games. His exceptional performance, focus and will to win have brought immense honour to our nation," the Prime Minister posted on X.

With these remarkable achievements, India currently holds the sixth position in the medal standings, having won a total of 58 medals, including 15 gold, 20 silver, and 23 bronze medals.
