Orion's Reyansh wins archery event on Day 6 of SFA

Reyansh Jadhav of Orion High School and Gurjeev Kohli of Arya Vidya Mandir (Bandra) reigned supreme in the archery competition of Sports For All powered by Byjus, at the University Sports Complex, Kalina here on Saturday

Gurjeev clinched the Indian Bow gold while Xavier Fernandes of Sacred Heart High School (Worli) cornered the silver in the U-17 category (Boys).

In the U-14 Compound, Reuyansh outclassed everybody to grab the title. Malhar Salve finished second while Dewansh Pujari had to be content with the third place.

In the Girls' U-14 Compound, Kasvi Agarwal of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan bagged the top prize, pipping Akshara Kodus of Sunflower Vedic School while Srashta Reddy of Pallavi International School took the bronze medal.

In the Boys' U-19 Recurve, Mujtaba Ali Mohammed claimed the top honours, beating Agniva of P. Obul Reddy Public School. Syed Tazammul Ali of Narayanan Junior College took home the bronze.

Elsewhere, in the battle for supremacy in Chess, Sara Sachin Gupta of Aditya Birla World Academy beat Chatrabhuj Narsee School to win the gold medal in the U-13 girls' category, while Prishan Vivek Kesarani beat Lakshanya Kamala Kannan of Ryan International to win the title in the Under-19 Girls' event.

Vageesh Swaminathan of Smt. RSB Arya Vidya Mandir won the Under-9 Boys' category after he scored a victory over Arjun Mohiot Bhandari of JBCN International School.

Sports For All, which is Mumbai's biggest school sporting spectacle, will see the owner of badminton team Pune 7Aces and famous Bollywood actress, Tapsee Pannu making an appearance and cheering for the kids. Also present would be former Indian player and Pune 7's coach Uday Pawar who will conduct a special badminton clinic for the young badminton players.

SFA had quite an eventful day with over 3000 kids from over 100 schools participating in four different sports including Football, Basketball, Badminton, Handball, Chess and Archery.

It will be a big day on Sunday with young athletes trying to set the early pace in karate and throwball along with Football, Basketball, Badminton and Volleyball.

Meanwhile, in Handball Boys' Under-16 competition Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya beat Don Bosco 12-8 to win the championship.

In the Boys' Under-11 Basketball event, Rajhans Vidyalaya walloped Don Bosco 15-5 to lift the Girls' Under-11 title, while Vibgyor High School (Malad) beat Baradevi Upper Primary School 16-12 to clinch the gold medal in the Boys' Under-11 title.
