Hangzhou [China], October 25 : Indian athlete Pooja secured a silver medal at the ongoing Para Asian Games in Hangzhou in women's discus throw on Wednesday.

In the women's javelin throw F54/55 event, Pooja finished second with her personal best throw of 18.17 m.

With a throw of 26.35 m, Feixia Dong of China took home the gold. Uzbekistan's Nurkhon Kurbanova bagged the bronze medal with a throw of 17.45 m.

India has won 55 medals so far, consisting of 14 gold, 19 silver and 22 bronze medals. 35 of these medals have come in athletics, with 12 golds and silvers each and 11 bronze medals.

India's performance in 2018 games at Indonesia, which earned them 15 gold, 24 silver and 33 bronze and a total of 72 medals, is their best so far.

The fourth edition of Para Asian Games will take place from October 22-28.
