According to the World Rankings released in 2021, Japan's passport is said to be the most powerful passport in the world.

People living in Japan can travel visa-free to 191 countries with this passport. Japan has topped the list for the past four years.

Singapore ranks second on this list. People living in this country can travel to 190 countries without a visa.

Germany and South Korea are third on the list. People from both countries can make visa-free entry into 189 countries. Also, there are four countries at number four on this list.

People living in Italy, Finland, Luxembourg and Spain can travel to 188 countries. Austria and Denmark are in fifth place and people from these countries can travel visa-free to 187 countries.

France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden are in sixth place. People from all these countries can enjoy visa-free travel to 186 countries.

This year the ranking is released by the Hanley Passport Index. This ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association. However, this year's rankings did not include temporary travel restrictions in many countries due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In addition, Belgium, New Zealand, Australia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Malta, Canada, Hungary, Norway, Switzerland, Britain and the USA are ranked tenth on the list.
