Gudi Padwa is mainly celebrated in Maharashtra, goa as a new year for Marathi people. Falling on the first day of Chaitra in the Hindu lunar calendar, it marks the arrival of spring, the beginning of the harvest season, and a time of prosperity. In 2025, Gudi Padwa will be observed on Sunday, March 30. On this day people hoist the Gudi consisting of a bamboo stick, a saffron color cloth, and Kalash decorated with garlands.
