Check out list! Indian Railways to operate 78 special trains for Navratri

Before the commencement of Navratri, Indian Railways on Wednesday cleared the operation of 39 pairs (78) of special trains which will be run at different zones in convenience.

These trains will mostly have AC Special, Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto classes. On the very first day of Navratri, Tejas, the private sector's flagship train, will start.

The first Tejas will run between Delhi to Lucknow and second from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Special rescue arrangements have been made for those traveling in the Tejas train from Corona. Passengers will not be allowed to travel without the Arogya Setu App.

In view of the increasing demand of passengers, Railway Board has given permission to run other special 78 trains. These trains have been selected for the same routes on which the passengers are under more pressure. The date of commencement of trains will be announced at the zone level. But Tejas operations will start on October 17 with the commencement of Navratri.

Due to various restrictions in Uttarakhand and Maharashtra due to Kovid-19, the number of trains for these states was very limited.

On the other hand, the Central Railway informed that from October 9, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and five pairs of special trains will run between Nagpur, Pune, Gondia and Solapur. These specials will run as fully reserved trains. Passengers are advised to follow all the norms and SOPs related to COVID-19 during the journey.
