COVID-19: Andhra Pradesh schools to remain shut, summer vacation extended till June 30th

Andhra Pradesh schools will remain closed for the time being. The state education department has extended the summer vacation extended June 30, 2021. The Andhra Pradesh Government has taken the decision in order to check the spread of COVID 19 in the state.

The order is applicable for the students and teachers of classes 1 to 9 for all the schools across the state. However, it is expected that the online classes may begin from June 12, 2021. The official announcement on the online classes is yet to be made by the Andhra Pradesh State Government.

The Andhra Pradesh state education department directed the headmasters to extend necessary academic support to the Class 10 SSC students. They also have to comply with the instructions issued for other projects such as mid-day meal, school infra and manabadi etc.

The Director, School Education requested the other respective stakeholders to prepare the academic calendar. The online classes and other academic activities will be taken up through various means such as what’s app, radio, television, YouTube etc.

Also, as per the local media report, Andhra Pradesh, AP Inter Exams 2021 are expected to be conducted in July 2021. The Board of Intermediate Examinations Andhra Pradesh, BIEAP, is expected to release the timetable soon.

Andhra Pradesh state government has asked all the regional joint directors of school education to pass the information. The stakeholders will have to ensure that the extension of summer vacation to be followed strictly till June 30, 2021.

On Monday, Andhra Pradesh government decided to extend the ongoing partial curfew to contain the spread of COVID-19 till June 10.

The curfew relaxation timings would be the same 6 am to noon during which Section 144, which prohibits gathering of more than five people, would be in place.

The state government initially imposed night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am in the last week of April following a sharp surge in COVID-19 infections.

Even as the spike in new infections has come down in recent days, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who took stock of the situation with officials on Monday, decided to extend the partial curfew till June 10 with the same relaxation hours.
