Shocking! Husband kills wife, 3 children before committing suicide

n a shocking incident of murder-suicide, a 38-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and their three children including a son and two daughters at their residence in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

The police have recovered a suicide note from the scene which cites ‘financial debt’ as the reason for the crime.

The incident took place in Safedabad area within the territorial jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station. The investigating officials suspect that the man must have killed his wife and children “two-three days ago” as their bodies have been recovered in a decomposed state.

The deceased were identified as Vivek Shukla, his wife Anamika, 35, their son Babal, 5, and daughters Ritu, 7, and Poem, 10. An iron tool and a knife stained with blood have also been recovered from the house.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the incident came to light when the now-deceased man’s mother, who lives next door, spotted him hanging from the ceiling fan when she was on the terrace.

She immediately informed her husband, who alerted the police. He told the police that his daughter-in-law, along with his grandchildren, had gone somewhere and his son has committed suicide. However, when police officials arrived at the house and inspected, they found the dead bodies of the wife and three children as well.
