If the customers are buying products online and not getting the same quality as it's showing on the site. Then understand that there is something wrong with it. This is because the government has issued notices to 202 companies across the country and many companies have been penalized

To save tax, companies bring goods from one country to India through tax-exempt countries. It mixes where the goods are made. Suppose the goods are made in Korea, But they came from Japan, so it was written as 'Made in Japan' and the companies gain more profit from it.

Consumers may have to compromise on the quality of goods made in China if they are sold under the banner of Made in Japan. Prices can also vary greatly. The customer may have to pay more.

The scam involves 'made in' tags of mobiles, TVs, and other small and large electronics items. Such tricks are also used in some branded clothing. It has been reported that there is a similar confusion in household items.

Fifteen companies have made a fuss about missing the expiry date / best before or product manufacturing, charging more than the MRP, not being of good quality. Notices have also been sent to them.

Consumers can complain to the National Consumer Helpline. So far many complaints have been resolved through this. Customers can also report online. More than 3,000 complaints have been lodged since September 2020.
