New Delhi, March 11 The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday raised the issue of Yes Bank in the Rajya Sabha and demanded a discussion.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh had earlier given a Zero Hour notice on the issue.

Ahead of Parliament session, AAP MPS had rallied near Mahatma Gandhi's statue in the Parliament complex and raised slogans to demand a "fair probe" into the matter.

"The central government is not serious on the discussion of the Yes bank issue in Parliament as the Bharatiya Janata Party has taken donations from scamsters," Sanjay Singh claimed.

AAP's Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Mann said: "Why did the government not act in 2017 when it has claimed that an eye was kept on the bank's functioning since then? The BJP is taking huge donations from the persons involved and avoiding discussion on the issue."

Mann, the MP from Punjab, added: "They are only interested in Hindu-Muslim debate only, and not even on coronavirus."

Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 8 in a money laundering case. The CBI also registered a case of corruption, criminal conspiracy and cheating against him and others.

Those booked include Kapoor's wife, their three daughters, and Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL) promoter Kapil Wadhwan.

The ED is since probing three Delhi properties of Kapoor, apart from another property bought by Rana's family on tony Altamount Road in Mumbai in 2018 for Rs 128 crore.
