New Delhi, July 23 A day after posting pictures with rebels Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia, Congress' Haryana leader Kuldeep Bishnoi on Thursday demanded that young and mass leaders should be given party posts.

In the latest salvo against the party old guard, Bishnoi, the MLA from Adampur, and a special invitee to the Congress Working Committee, said: "I have been harmed for considering Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi as leaders."

Noting that Pilot and Scindia are good leaders and the party will suffer their loss, he sought that young leaders should be given party posts and those who have not contested election since 30 to 35 or more years should be given some other work.

He also slammed those who are spreading rumours of his joining the BJP.

The son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, Bishnoi, along with his father, left the Congress after his father was denied Chief Ministerial post in 2004 and the party chose Bhupinder Singh Hooda as Chief Minister. They set up the Haryana Janhit Congress, but later merged it with the Congress.

The Congress is currently seeing a battle of old guard and the younger leaders.

In response to Bishnoi's comments, Congress leader Ajay Maken said that he not seen his statement and will not respond to it but "everyone in the party is for ideology, not for the post.. I don't have any post but that does not mean that I should go against the party".
