BJP working president JP Nadda on Saturday said his party welcomed the Ayodhya verdict by the Supreme Court while maintaining that the judgement is not a victory or loss for anyone.

"The Bharatiya Janata Party welcomes the unmous decision taken by the Supreme Court of India on Ramjanmabhoomi. It is not victory or defeat of anyone. All the citizens of the country should think of the nation first and maintain peace and harmony," Nadda said in a series of tweets.

The BJP leader said the unmous judgement by the top court makes all of us realise the democratic values of the country.

"The unmous decision taken by the Supreme Court on Ayodhya makes all of us realise the democratic values of India. While respecting the decision of the judiciary of the country, we all have to maintain a peaceful and amicable atmosphere," he said in another tweet.

Nadda added that the BJP also respects people of the country who have together kept the social, cultural and spiritual fabric of the country intact and noted that "this decision has given a clear message that the whole of India is united and the roots of democracy in India are very strong."

The Supreme Court on Saturday directed the Centre to make necessary arrangements for the construction of a temple at the disputed site by forming a trust and give five acres of suitable land to Sunni Waqf Board for a mosque at an alternate location in Ayodhya.
