Coronavirus Lockdown: Karnataka bans entry of people from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu till May 31

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa announced that people from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will not be allowed to enter the state till 31 May. On the first day of the fourth phase of the lockdown, Yediyurappa said that trains and state corporation buses will run within Karnataka and shops will be allowed to open. "Strict lockdown measures will be followed in containment zones and economic activities will be permitted in other areas. Sundays will be total lockdown across the state," he said. Karnataka reported 84 new infections since 5 pm on Sunday, taking the number of cases in teh state  to 1,231.

The southern state today also decided to lift several lockdown restrictions even as it saw the biggest-single jump in the number of coronavirus cases with 84 new patients, which brings the total to 1,231 cases. After a meeting with ministers and senior officials, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that trains would be allowed to run and all government buses with social distancing norms would also be allowed to run, except in containment and red zones. Only 30 passengers would be allowed in the buses. Ola and Uber - would also be allowed to run taxis from tomorrow.
