New Delhi, March 11 The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday appointed Delhi MLA Dinesh Mohania as state in-charge of Uttarakhand.

Mohania, the former Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman, said he will work to make Delhi's model accessible to every single person of Uttarakhand.

The step has been taken as Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party has stepped up work on expanding its organisation in Uttarakhand.

The three-time MLA from Sangam Vihar Vidhan Sabha seat in Delhi said he will leave for Uttarakhand on Thursday, where he will hold a meeting with party officials and volunteers to formulate a strategy to launch AAP's Delhi model in Uttarakhand.

"I will try to live up to the expectations of the party and will work to bring AAP model of governance in Delhi to every household in Uttarakhand. The people of Delhi have liked the 'development model' of AAP. The impact of the victory in Delhi is visible across the country," he said.

Mohania said after the victory in Delhi, the party had launched a missed call campaign to join AAP for nation-building.

"The party has received a good response to this campaign from Uttarakhand as well. So far lakhs of people from Uttarakhand have expressed their desire to join the party by giving missed calls. People want Delhi's model to be implemented in Uttarakhand too. In view of this, work has been intensified on further strengthening the organisation of the party in Uttarakhand."

Mohania, a core member of the initial Anna Hazare movement, won his first election in 2013.

After winning the Delhi Assembly polls last month, the AAP is working towards expanding the party across other states.
