Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], March 16 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin called on party leaders and workers to work with renewed intensity ahead o the upcoming Assembly elections, asserting that the party must win for victory in every constituency it contests.

Addressing district secretaries at the party headquarters here, CM Stalin said the election schedule has now been announced and only a few weeks remain for campaigning. "Yesterday, the election date was announced. Only 39 days remain until April 23. Our party has been leading the election work," he said.

CM Stalin emphasised that the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has gained strong public support through its welfare schemes and governance over the past five years.

"Through our welfare schemes such as providing Rs 3,000 as Pongal gifts to all families, granting Rs 5,000 as women's rights assistance to 1.31 crore families, and giving special financial assistance of Rs 2,000 to nearly 40 lakh people, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities, our support among the public has increased significantly," he said.

Highlighting the party's organisational strength, Stalin said the DMK and its allies have successfully countered attempts to create confusion within the alliance and have built a strong coalition for the polls.

"Because of the strength of our alliance, our welfare schemes, and the achievements of the past five years, we have created a strong belief not only among the public but also among our opponents that we will be the ones to win," he said.

The DMK chief urged party functionaries to remain disciplined and focused in the final stretch of the campaign.

"From now on, there should not be even the slightest slip. Each of you must remain careful. Every action, every movement and every word you speak will have an impact in the election," he said.

CM Stalin also set an ambitious target for the party and its allies. "We must secure victory in every constituency we contest in the election. Together with our alliance partners, our target is to win 200 constituencies," he said.

Warning against internal disputes, Stalin said strict action would be taken against anyone creating confusion within the party during the election period. "For me, the welfare of the party is more important than any individual leader," he added.

Calling the upcoming polls a decisive moment, Stalin urged workers to intensify their efforts. "Prepare to win. Work hard, work harder. Let us work together. Together we will win," he said.
