DMK to hold elections to party posts on March 29

DMK President M.K. Stalin on Monday said that elections for the posts of party General Secretary and Treasurer will be held on March 29 at the party general council meeting.

Chennai, March 16 DMK President M.K. Stalin on Monday said that elections for the posts of party General Secretary and Treasurer will be held on March 29 at the party general council meeting.

In a statement here, Stalin said that party Treasurer Duraimurugan had expressed his desire to contest the post of General Secretary following the death of incumbent K. Anbazhagan on March 7 and would like to quit his current post.

Stalin said that hence an election for the two posts would be held.

Anbazhagan had died after a prolonged illness.
