Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday said that the Kartarpur Corridor which was inaugurated today will bring peace between two countries.

"It was a pleasant experience. People are excited. Arrangements there were very good. We are happy that we can go anytime to offer prayers. I thank our government and Pakistan government as well. We had to come back before sunset," she told here after coming back from offering prayers at Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.

"I went there one year back. I hope it will bring peace, brotherhood and harmony. Guru sahib will bless both countries," Badal added.

Lok Sabha MP Sukhbir Singh said it was an amazing experience visiting the Gurudwara Kartpur Sahib.

"They have constructed it in a good way. Both governments made impossible things possible. This is going to become World's destination site," he said.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Integrated Check Post of the Kartarpur Corridor.

Modi was accomped by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Harsimrat Kaur Badal and actor and Gurdaspur lawmaker Sunny Deol at the inauguration.

The Integrated Check Post or the passenger terminal building is where pilgrims will get clearance to travel through the newly-built corridor. The check post will facilitate Indian pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Kartapur Sahib in Pakistan.

The opening of the corridor, which connects Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, comes days before the 550th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev, on November 12.

Before heading for Dera Baba Nanak, the Prime Minister paid obeisance at historic Ber Sahib Gurdwara at Sultanpur Lodhi.
