Gurugram, Oct 11 Meham's Independent MLA Balraj Kundu, his brother Shivraj Kundu and their company officials Mohammad Hashim and VK Lamba were booked in a Rs 14-crore cheating case on a complaint by a city resident, police said on Sunday.

A senior police officer confirmed registration of the case under Sections 420, 467, 468, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint by Parivartan Singh of Sector 51.

The complaint said that Balraj and his brother Shivraj of Nirvana Country in Sector 50 and the two officials of construction company KCC Buildcon had given him a road construction project of Rs 75 crore in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the complainant, after an agreement, his company started work on September 26, 2017 and completed about 55 per cent of the project till September 2020. He said that his company sent bills totalling Rs 41 crore to KCC Buildcon but he allegedly received payment of only Rs 27 crore.

Parivartan Singh said he had urged the four to release remaining Rs 14 crore to him several times, but they refused.

The complainant claimed that the MLA used his status and power to threaten him with dire consequences.

After Parivartan Singh reported the matter, police investigated the complaint. "A case was filed on late Saturday night under the IPC. A probe into the matter is on," said Surender Singh, SHO of Sector 50 police station.
