New Delhi, Dec 12 On the 16th day of their agitation against the three new farm laws, farmers are first adopting strategy to beat the rain, thereafter, they will work on intensifying their movement. "It will be raining today, we'll try to find way to tackle this situation first," Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said.

After the light shower on Saturday morning, the weather has turned cold. Rain also lashed at temporary huts of farmers causing inconvenience to them.

When asked about their strategy for Saturday, Tikait expressed his priority to protect his people.

"It will be raining today, we'll try to find a way to tackle the situation. Moreover, we will have to protect people who are protesting in open. We will try to save our huts first. If they get wet it will be a big problem for farmers," Tikait said.

"Our people are present at toll crossings in villages, but here, we'll teach people how to protect themselves from rain to continue the protest," he said, adding that "my hut is also built, if it got wet, what would I do?"

Farmers from various states including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand have reached Ghazipur border to raise their voice against the farm laws.

However, when asked that whether he would visit Singhu border, Tikait said, "There is no plan as of now, but if people call me I will definitely go."

Farmers are adamant on their demand of rollback of the farm laws and the protest entered the 16th day on Saturday. The farmers have besieged the Delhi borders at Singhu, Tigari and other borders that has crippled the traffic in the National Capital Region.

The farmers had called for a 'bandh' on Saturday and had announced to block the Delhi-Jaipur highway and Delhi-Agra highway. If the farmers block these highways, this will cause big inconvenience to Delhiites.
