The Congress appointed Supriya Shrinate as a spokesperson, who was Maharajganj's party candidate in the Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress appointed Supriya Shrinate as a spokesperson, who was Maharajganj's party candidate in the Lok Sabha polls.Congress president Sonia Gandhi confirmed the appointment of Supriya Shrinate as spokesperson for All India Congress Committee, said a statement issued by communication department chief Randeep Surjewala.Shrinate was a television journalist until a few months ago. She is the daughter of Harsh Vardhan, former Congress MP.She lost to Pankaj Chaudhary of BJP in Maharajganj's Lok Sabha polls. Her father, Harsh Vardhan, was a two-time MP from the seat.
