Ahead of assembly elections in Uttarakhand PM Modi is addressing the public rally in the state, during his speech the Prime Minister said "Our govt provided support to the poor during COVID-19 via free ration & several other schemes. Corruption would have happened if Congress was ruling the state."

Talking about the development in Uttarakhand the PM said, "We are constructing highways & airports here. Under ‘Parvat Mala’, ropeway connectivity will be provided in remote areas via the national ropeway development program. New medical colleges & degree colleges will be opened."

Praising Dhami over his work in the state he said "Several Bengali families live here. I want to congratulate Pushkar Singh Dhami that they decided to remove 'Poorvi Pakistan' mention from caste certificates of rehabilitated Bengalis."

Meanwhile, As the term of 2017 will expire on March 23, 2022. The state is going to hold assembly elections on February 14 in Uttarakhand, the elections will be in single-phase. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress party are the main contender's elections in the state and the counting of the polls will be held on 10 March along with the other four states.
