As Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting Pune on February 22, the Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad police have issued certain traffic directives. The BJP leader will be attending many programs in Pune on February 22. He will be attending the meeting of the Western Zonal Council under purview of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. That meeting will be attended by key functionalities from Maharashtra, Goa, Gujrat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu. The meeting will be held at Koregaon Park.

After that meeting Amit Shah will head to a function in Balewadi, organised for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. Police have notified traffic restrictions over movement of heavy vehicles while Amit Shah is in Pune.

There will be no traffic of heavy vehicles from Chande, Nande and Mahalunge to Radha Chowk and back. Heavy vehicles can take alternative routes of Godrej Chowk and Hinjewadi. Heavy vehicles will be prohibited on the Sus Bridge and Nyati Showroom route. The drivers can commute via Mumbai-Pune Highway and Hinjewadi.

Vehicles will not be allowed to take the road in front of the Mahalunge Main gate of the Balewadi Stadium, on the patch between Sheetalai Devi Chowk and Mahalunge Police Chowky. There will be no traffic movement between Radha Chowk and Mula River Bridge except for the vehicles of the program attendees.

Vehicles travelling along Baner Road to Radha Chowk will be rerouted via the Nanavare or Kia showroom underpasses. Vehicles travelling to Baner Road from Highway Bypass Road will be rerouted via Balewadi High Street and Balewadi Jakat Naka. It has been recommended that vehicles travelling from the city to Hinjewadi, Wakad, Lonavala, and Mumbai take Pashan Road or Aundh Road instead of Baner Road.

Heavy trucks will not be allowed on Pashan Road, Baner Road, or Aundh Road for the entire day. On February 22, slow-moving, very-heavy trucks will be prohibited from the city of Pune for the entire day.

On the route between Turf Club and Water Tank Circle in Wanawadi, two-way traffic will be introduced.
