A state-appointed committee has submitted its report on the controversial Pune land deal involving Parth Pawar, stating that he bears no direct responsibility in the transaction. The report, led by Revenue Secretary Vikas Kharge, has been handed to Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who will forward it to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The case concerns land in a prime location in Pune, valued at around Rs 1,800 crore, which was allegedly purchased for Rs 300 crore by Amedia Company, linked to Parth Pawar. After the deal came to light, Chief Minister Ajit Pawar cancelled the transaction.

A police chargesheet earlier gave Parth Pawar a clean chit, drawing criticism. At the time, Minister Bawankule maintained that the committee’s report was still awaited and no conclusion could be drawn.

According to the submitted report, responsibility for the undervaluation lies with those who executed the transaction under stamp duty rules. Although Parth Pawar is a partner in Amedia Company, his signature does not appear on the documents. The committee concluded that he has no direct role in the land purchase.

The report recommends dismissal of two officers and suspension of five others involved in the deal. Strict action has been proposed against Tehsildar Suryakant Yewle and Deputy Registrar Taru, who assisted the company; both are already suspended.

With Sunetra Pawar entering state politics and expected to vacate her Rajya Sabha seat after assuming the post of Deputy Chief Minister, speculation had grown about Parth Pawar being nominated in her place. The land case was seen as an obstacle. With the committee’s findings clearing him, his political path is now considered open.
