A case has been registered against a municipal contractor company and two individuals for allegedly cheating a man of Rs 21.2 lakh under the pretext of securing him a job in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The accused failed to provide the promised job and did not return the money.

The fraudulent incident took place between September 2023 and June 28, 2024, at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation office and a hotel in Pimpri. Following a complaint by Amol Bhaskar Garje (35, a resident of Moshi Authority), Pimpri police registered a case against Sachin Chhabbani Suryavanshi, Milind Padhye, and AG Enviro Company.

According to the police, the suspects, including Sachin Suryavanshi and Milind Padhye who allegedly signed a fake appointment letter lured the complainant with the promise of a job in PCMC. The accused gained Garje’s trust and took Rs 21.2 lakh from him and his associates through online transactions and cash payments. However, the promised job never materialized.

Despite multiple demands for a refund, the suspects failed to return the money and allegedly embezzled funds from other victims, including Ashwini Gayasamudre and Vishal Khandve, in a similar manner.
