Pune, Maharashtra (April 16, 2025): Bharati Vidyapeeth Police arrested a 20-year-old man for terrorising the Sinhgad College area in Katraj with a Koyta. The accused was paraded at the crime scene on Monday as a warning to others.

The accused, identified as Tanmay Sakharam Bhuyari, is originally from Buldhana and currently resides in the Sinhgad Campus at Vadgaon. Police said the incident took place around 6 am on April 8 near the gate of Chandragaon Capital, a well-known building in the area that sees heavy pedestrian activity.

Bhuyari, along with an accomplice, allegedly attacked a young man who had stopped for tea. The accused reportedly used a Koyta in the assault.

Police teams launched a search operation soon after the incident and tracked Bhuyari to a nearby location. He was arrested within a few hours. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack and identify his accomplice.

Officials said more arrests may follow as the inquiry continues.
