Pune Accident News: Seven women were killed and more than 20 others injured on Monday, August 11, 2025, when a vehicle carrying devotees to Kundeshwar temple fell into a gorge in Khed taluka of Pune district. The accident took place around 1 p.m. in the ghat section of western Khed while the group was on its way to the Kundeshwar Shiva temple for darshan on the third Monday of the holy month of Shravan.

While climbing the ghat section, the vehicle (MH 14 GD 7299) went off the road and plunged into a valley.  According to the reports, seven women died at the scene, more than 20 others were injured. Officers from Khed police station reached the spot and began an investigation.

Local residents and rescue teams reached the site and helped pull the injured from the wreckage. The victims were taken to the private hospitals and the Chandoli rural hospital for treatment. Several remain under medical care and some are in serious condition.
