A shocking kidnapping incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Kapurhol (Taluka Bhor) in Pune district has literally shaken the entire area. The 18-year-old son of a well-known businessman was forcibly abducted from his car in broad daylight, sending a wave of fear across the village within moments. However, thanks to a “surgical roadblock” set up by the police within a few hours, the situation reversed, and the young man was safely rescued.

The abduction happened in a flash, causing panic in the village. It was a typically busy afternoon when suddenly a black car stopped on the main road of Kapurhol. After a brief struggle, the young man was forcibly placed inside the vehicle, which then sped away. The incident occurred so swiftly that the locals were left stunned. Upon receiving information, the family contacted the police immediately. Messages were disseminated through the village security network, and alert sirens sounded across surrounding areas.

Operation Roadblock — Once information was received, the Jejuri and Neera police stations in Purandar taluka launched a joint operation. A blockade was immediately set up on the Jeur–Neera route. Every vehicle was checked, and all suspicious movements were closely monitored. Meanwhile, a suspicious car traveling from Jeur toward Pisur caught the attention of the police. When officers signaled the driver to stop, he accelerated. A chase ensued, kicking up clouds of dust. The road narrowed, and suddenly the vehicle lost control, getting stuck in a sugarcane field. The car had crashed into the dense sugarcane, trapping it in the mud.

The atmosphere turned tense in moments. Taking advantage of the darkness and thick sugarcane, the abductors tried to escape. However, the police reached the car without delay. When the doors were opened, the terrified young man was found inside. He was safely pulled out, bringing relief to the officers.

The mystery behind the plot — What was the exact motive behind this abduction? Was it an extortion attempt? A dispute over financial dealings? Or a personal vendetta? The police have successfully apprehended two suspects involved in the kidnapping of the Kapurhol youth. Akshay Lakshman Ingulkar and Akshay Dattatray Bhalerao, residents of Manjari Hadapsar, have been taken into custody. The remaining suspects, Pankaj Walhekar and Ganesh Dhadve of Kamthadi, are still being pursued, according to Assistant Police Inspector Dipak Wakchaure of Jejuri Police Station.
